We care about acts and impact

We are committed to responsible and sustainable investment and are signatories of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) promoted by the United Nations, as well as the Investors for Growth Charter and the Gender Equality Charter of France Invest.

We are also a member of Initiative Climat International (iC International) and believe that private equity has to play its part in tackling climate change by leveraging tried-and-tested methodologies to analyse and mitigate carbon emissions and exposure to climate-related financial risks in their portfolios.

Merieux Equity Partners is a Sponsor of LEVEL 20, the not-for-profit organization established to promote greater female representation in the private equity industry. LEVEL 20 was initially launched in the UK in 2015 and has since become pan-European. LEVEL 20 France was launched in 2017 by Caroline Folléas who is currently its Chairman. Our firm supports LEVEL 20’s mission and its goal of having 20% of senior positions held by women, with a particular focus on increasing the number of women in investment roles. Its two main actions are outreach in schools and universities to encourage young women to join this industry and their mentoring and development to succeed in this industry. Other key initiatives include networking and events, advocacy and research. These actions are carried out in coordination with France Invest within the framework of the Talents and Diversity Commission

ESG and SFDR Communication

Mérieux Equity Partners set up policies on the integration of sustainability risks in the investment decision-making process.

The investment policy integrates environmental and social characteristics of the investments. Since 2020, a periodical report related to extra-financial characteristics is available for investors.

The remuneration policy is consistent with the integration of sustainability risks. Since 2021, dedicated objectives for the Executive Officers and the Managing Partners were set up accordingly, to increase ESG awareness, to incorporate and integrate ESG factors throughout the entire investment cycle and to ensure proper ESG indicators reporting (Fund Annual Report and Incident monitoring). Therefore, ESG objectives are now included in the annual assessment and remuneration of such employees.
